How it Works

The new .name domain was created to give people a unique idenitification on the Internet, communication systems and a number of other new technologies. It is the first and only global top-level domain (gTLD) for individuals, approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in November 2000. The first .name domain resolved on the Internet on 15 January 2002.

You may use the youranimal.llamas.name identifier to simplify access to your more valuable llamas whether you currently have a web address or need to have one created. There are a number of animals with similar names so the rule of first-come first-served applies.

With its' recent opening, .name became structurally and technically identical to e.g. .com and .net.

It's personal. Use your animals' name or nickname.
The only thing anyone needs to remember is the llamas' name.

It's portable. Any email sent to your youranimal@llamas.name address arrives in your current email box or any email box you choose.

It's permanent. Since youranimal.llamas.name can be registered for as long as 10 years, and ownership is renewable, your youranimal.llamas.name really can be yours for life.

llama.name is designed to make creating a presence and communicating online easy and accessible. Let your name speak for itself.

Identify your llama with a domain name everyone will remember.
