    Samuel Merrill, 1928, reprint 1983

2900 - Sixth Generation, pp 577-8

Benjamin6 MERRILL (Nathaniel5, Nathaniel4, Abel3, Abel2) was born 24 Jan.1768, in Nottingham West (now Hudson), N.H., and died 25 Apr. 1849. He was a farmer and lived in Nottingham West, and was a deacon of the Congregational Church. His house, shown in the accompanying picture, is in the southeast part of Hudson. The farm is east of that of his grandfather, Rev. Nathaniel4 Merrill, and adjoins it. The large willow tree beyond the house was cut down many years ago. The building is still in excellent condition, and has been equipped with steam heat and running water in recent years. The large window in the second story lights a finished chamber, the two smaller windows on that floor giving additional light and ventilation to an unfinished attic. It is believed that Benjamin6 Merrill built the house not long before 1800.
