MERRILL (Abel2)
- was born 12 July, 1681, in Newbury, Mass., and died
20 Sept. 1747, in Stratham, N.H., where the later years
of his life were passed. He was known in Stratham as Ensign
Joseph Merrill, to distinguish him from Joseph4
Merrill, "shoemaker," (Daniel3,2).

married (1) 16 Feb. 1707, in Newbury, Ann Wiggins of Haverhill,
who died 28 Dec. 1741, in Stratham, and (2) Sarah .
