MERRILL (Daniel2)
was born 3 Sept. 1683, in Newbury, Mass., and died 17
Jan. 1756, in Salisbury, Mass., where he had lived from
his boyhood. His home was in a section then known as "Pitch
Pine plain," a mile and a half from East Salisbury
village, on the road leading to Seabrook.
He and his wife Mary joined the Congregational Church
in Salisbury 21 May, 1710, and he became a deacon of the
church. His wife died 15 Dec. 1760. Children, born in

(now Buxton), Me. Capt. Bradbury
was one of
the first settlers of Buxton, and
was a distinguished
soldier and Indian fighter. He
commanded, in 1748-9, at the block-house
on
the west side of the Saco River,
half a mile below Union
