• A Merrill Memorial by Samuel Merrill 1928, reprinted in 1983. Well known as the definitive source for Merrill family history, this book is highly sought after since there were very few published and republished. You may now choose from the two available Acrobat copies (734 pages) and they are now searchable due to OCR technology. You may also visit sections in the book on Merrill heraldry and Wherstead, England. Partial text is now available through the fourth generation online HTML version reproduced by Steve Merrill. x2
• A Sketch of the History of Newbury, Newburyport and West Newbury from 1635 to 1845 by Joshua Coffin in 1845.
An excellent source of information on this early history of Massachusetts encompassing not only the Merrill family but also most of the allied families.

• Celebration of the Two Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of the Settlement of Newbury by the Historical Society of Newbury in 1885 (165 pages).
Commemoration of the settlement of Newbury with the first century held in 1735, the citizens of Newbury, Newburyport and West Newbury set to creating a process of celebrating this anniversary.
