. . . But not in my Backyard

Metal upon Metal

Tuesday, 1 February 2005  Shortly after 6:30a this morning there was a tremendous crash of metal upon metal. It sounded like sheets of steel slamming upon other sheets not just once but for the next several minutes.

We were promised that work would not start until a resonable hour as per the city ordinance and being interpreted by the city as being no earlier than 7:00a.

There have been many days where workers began driving around the site before 7:00a in heavy equipment and more often than not backwards causing the intermitent beep, beep, beep much like you hear in McDonalds, only much louder. The buildings resound the annoyance right into your homes awakening even the sound sleeper who keeps late hours. This last insult has been noted as an infringment on our rights established by the City and will be added to the problems the home owners in the vicinity have had to deal with on a constant basis.
